David N. Brown, 74, of Hilo died Nov. 6 at home. Born in Madison, Tenn., he was retired from Amfac, an instructor at Hawaii Community College, U.S. Air Force captain and commissioner of AYSO soccer. Visitation 3:30-5 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 15) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Service at 5 p.m. Graveside service with military honors noon Wednesday (Nov. 16) at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Aloha Attire. Catherine Giacometti Evans, 83, of Kailua-Kona died Oct. 26 at home. Born in Hilo, she was a teacher, author, pastry chef, culinary historian, past president of International Association of Culinary Professionals and member of Les Dames d’Escoffier.
